SAGE HEN TOWNHOUSES Teton County, Idaho

Dubbe~Moulder Architects master planned and designed this forty-six unit townhouse complex on Lots 2 and 3 of Teton Town Center Subdivision in Teton County, Idaho. The design of the townhouse units encompasses one 6 unit building, two 8 unit buildings, one 10 unit building, and one 14 unit building.

The dialogue between materials and place are ever present in the Sage Hen Townhouses. With the center barrel vault roof peaking from tall gently sloped roofs gives a great juxtaposition to the mountains rising above the valley floor. The building jets in and out with a certain playfulness and adds depth, shade and shadow which gives the facade more of a rich tactile feature. The clean corners of the building are accented by windows that predominantly stand out on either side of the turn of the wall. By contrast the building is finished on each end with vividly colored stucco. The building plays on a sense of vertical and horizontal depth with the use of wood siding that accents the projections and recessions of each building turn. Deep decks on vertical timbers complement the facade in this fashion. The first phase of the development is currently under construction.
