Bob and Sally Phinny had DMA design this traditional home in Jackson Hole in order to allow them a comfortable place to entertain family and friends. The Phinnys also wanted a place to display their amazing collection of furniture and artwork amassed throughout the many years of service to this country by way of Bob being a US Ambassador to countries such as South Africa, Mozambique and Swaziland. The Phinnys tastes were more of a conservative east coast colonial, so DMA provided a clean, crisp yet very detailed background where Bob and Sally could display, in comfort, their beautiful furnishings along with an extensive collection of original Currier & Ives prints. Due to Bob’s failing eyesight, light, bright colors were used throughout the house to reflect the natural light from all the large viewing windows. Sally also loved to paint, so a cozy studio was designed and balanced with the right amount of windows which brought in the wonderful colors of her flower garden.
