CAR CORNER BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Jackson Hole , Wyoming

Drawing on the tradition of the old way stations operated by the Hamilton Stores in Yellowstone National Park, The Car Corner provides full service for travelers and their vehicles in a park-like setting. The site, alongside Highway 89, is a prominent feature in the southern “gateway” to the town of Jackson. The careful placement of the buildings within the site enhances the function of the various businesses and breaks up the mass of 24,000 total square feet of floor area.

The definition of the various buildings as it relates to shape, form, texture, and proportion is fundamental. Studying the existing facilities within the national parks, DMA produced a timeless piece of historic, functional architecture that aestheticlly accommodates the traveling public’s physical needs.
