North Wind, Inc. Corporate Headquarters: Idaho Falls, Idaho

Working closely with the owners of an environmental consulting service company to develop a program, Dubbe ~Moulder Architects designed a 23,000-square foot structure that not only takes full advantage of the site’s orientation but also provides a sense of corporate identity.

Abundant operable windows tucked under wide overhangs on the east and west elevations flood the open plan office floors with natural light and natural ventilation, reducing energy costs. Private offices for supervisory personnel and conference rooms are strategically spaced throughout the two main levels, where open floor plans allow workstations to be configured according to project team needs.

A daylight, full basement opens to a terrace facing the river, giving employees an opportunity to enjoy an open air lunch while savoring the view across the river to the west. Full height attic space, passively lit from clerestory windows above, provides storage and additional temporary workspaces during large projects.
